Cambridge's Rep. Decker kicks-off re-election with endorsements

Fresh from a re-election kick-off at the Sheraton Commander on June 12, Rep. Marjorie Decker is among the first Massachusetts legislators to be endorsed by MassEquality and NARAL. These groups join a number of organizations that have endorsed Decker early in the campaign season including Planned Parenthood, the AFL-CIO, the Boston Teacher’s Union, and the Sierra Club.
These endorsements come as Decker’s re-election campaign kicks into full swing. More than 150 friends and supporters gathered at the Sheraton Commander for her June 12 kickoff celebration. Representative Decker’s campaign comes after two years of work on Beacon Hill.
“Our work together has made it possible for me to advocate for a society shaped by policies, resources, and programs that understand government has a role in ensuring that all children are school ready, well fed, safely housed and properly cared for,” she said at her kick-off. “That is why I am asking for your vote in the Democratic Primary this September 9th.”
“Marjorie Decker has been a state representative since 2012, but in those two years she has done an extraordinary amount of work around civil rights, healthcare, children and families,” said Kara Coredini, executive director of MassEquality. “She's proven herself to be a staunch advocate for equality and fairness and when re-elected, she will continue that tradition of doing what's right.”
